Make Meaning with Students provides four free 45-minute online professional development modules designed for P-12 teachers who are interested in:

1. exploring historical barriers to literacy and efforts to teach literacy as a vehicle of freedom. Examining our history may help us see how history can shape our teaching practices and classroom cultures today, and

2. taking action in our daily teaching to disrupt historic patterns and engage all students in literacy as a project of freedom.

Aligned to teaching and student learning standards, our modules equip teachers of all grades and subjects to prompt student critical thinking and make meaning of student responses through specific teaching strategies.
